Man Dies Days After Utility Pole Crash In Poconos: Lehigh County Coroner

A 43-year-old man has died days after a crash with a utility pole in the Poconos, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.

Rowland Matthews, of Dreher Township, Wayne County, struck a utility pole on Route 191 about one mile south of Pocono Plateau Road in Cresco, Monroe County, the coroner's office said. 

The crash happened at 3:44 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, according to the coroner's office. 

Matthews was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital. on Friday, Oct. 18, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said. The cause of death was "Complications of Blunt Force Injuries to Torso" and the manner of death is "Accident."

The Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department is investigating the crash, according to the coroner's office.
